Yeah pretty much right. They didn’t really start being the accepted norm (i guess you could say) until the protestant reformation. Oddly enough the first ones were not so much public seating, but were purchased by worshippers to offset the cost of the building. But it’s ok, I understand Churches have collection plates now, so it balances out nicely I’m sure.
