Why is my youtube video queued and taking so long to process?

Asked by ScottyMcGeester (1897points) March 4th, 2013

I made a simple 1:42 minute .wmv video that’s 67 MB, and the first time I uploaded it, everything was fine. It processed in a couple minutes. Then I just noticed some things in the video I wanted to tweak, just really tiny minor changes with the audio level. So I deleted that and uploaded the new one.

For some dang reason it’s taking forever to process now. It says it’s taking longer than expected and it’s queued. Is there any reason why this happens? It’s pissing me off. I need to get this video out ASAP.

Remember that they do automated content scanning to see if you are using copyrighted music. It may be in some secondary queue, especially if the music matched the first upload, which would suggest to them that this might be someone else’s intellectual property.

And remember that they get 1 gig per minute or more, of new stuff.

I went to another site and someone suggested to put “https” or something like that in the front of the URL of the upload page. I don’t quite understand what that does but it ended up working – it uploaded within like two minutes.

You tube checks every sound to protect it from illegal use. The plain the video the faster it loads
