What's something special I can do for my wife on Easter?

Asked by gambitking (4206points) March 29th, 2013

I’m looking for something special I can do for my wife on Easter this Sunday. We live in Denver, but all our family lives in Texas. Traditionally, we would spend the holiday at a family gathering at my wife’s grandmother’s house and there would be a big feast, gifts exchanged, easter egg hunts, etc. So she feels homesick around this time.

Anyway, so I’m gonna get her some flowers but I wanted to do something special and “Easter-y” for her beyond that. I have a very limited budget since we’re saving up to move soon, plus she’s 7 months pregnant.

Any ideas?

Cook her a nice meal, massage her feet, shoulders, neck, back, calves, shins…well, you get the idea…, write her a love poem, buy her a flowering plant which will last far longer than cut flowers (such as a pink cyclamen), take her for a nice drive into the mountains, vacuum the house, clean the bathrooms, give her an IOU for a few sleep-ins after the baby comes and she is pooped.

You sound like a really nice husband.

Aw, how sweet! Maybe you could give her a little Easter basket, with a chocolate bunny and some of her favorite candies, snack foods, or specialty teas in it. I know I’d be tickled pink to find something like that on Easter morning!

Easter egg hunt just for her with a special treat at the end?

You go pick a flower from the yard, write a love poem about her, and, maybe the baby too. Then give her a box of choclates with a bunny on it After you cook her a nice dinner and you are laying in bed with her. Hug her, kiss her, massage her feet, and the two of you can “talk” to the baby. And maybe you can paint a baby on an egg, since she is pregnant.

What about creating a special Easter brunch picnic (either to have at a park or at home in the living room).

Get a nice tablecloth or blanket. Serve ham, deviled eggs, coleslaw, strawberries, and buy a cake or chocolate rabbit for dessert.

Dye some eggs, or paint, glitter, whatever you prefer and give them to her in a basket.. Something you spend time on from scratch, handmade, would warm my heart if you were my husband. Or, you could do it together on Sunday if she likes crafty things.

Easter egg hunt. You can buy plastic eggs and put notes in each one and make it like a mystery thing. Have the first one in the bathroom when she first wakes up, and a hint inside about where the next one is. Maybe the fridge? Or, next to the coffee pot. Another note in an egg to tell her what you plan for the day. I like the picnic idea, or a tourist attraction she always wanted to go to if it is open Easter Sunday. Also can throw in some chocolates of course.

Try the webcam.
To contact everyone and connect together online to wish each other well wishes etc.
In this day and age internet connecting is universal.
If you do not have a web cam..go to a cafe etc that has and rent some time .
