What is AVI and WAV recording?

Asked by 9molly92001 (31points) August 11th, 2013

I am using Desmume to play ds games and I found under the File section in the toolbar that there are two options Record WAV and Record AVI. What I am asking is which one would not record my voice and just my computer’s screen and audio?

WAV is strictly an audio file, while AVI is a video-audio file. If you want to record your screen and audio, record AVI.

Both are audio file type and if you are planning to copy music off the Internet or even copy a CD.
Waveform Audio (.wav) is a common file format. Professionally recorded CDs are also a lossless audio source.
AVI is short for Audio Video Interleave which is used to create Digital Video, both formats transferred without the loss of quality between computers, camcorders and video players like DVDs.
