Favorite condiment?

Don’t stick to ketchup & mustard; i want to hear about it if you use vanilla extract in your salad dressing!

horseradish. I’m not saying I eat it on everything, but I do go out of my way to order specific things just to get at it.

I don’t think I would ever eat shrimp if it wasn’t in cocktail sauce.

Salt.

Just try foods that have zero salt in them. You’ll quickly realize why it was worth it’s weight in gold.

Salsa is supposed to be a condiment, isn’t it? That’s not bad. Also, for some reason, black pepper on almost everything.

I like Stonewall Kitchen’s Red Pepper Jelly. It’s great on pork, baked brie, turkey saniwches…

Wasabi. Love the green death.

Horseradish. Anyone seeing a pattern here? You and I can go to lunch any day, ebenezer.

Guacamole. Goes well on almost anything. Awesome (Don’t watch gailcalled. I used the “a“word.) as a salad dressing! Followed closely by salsa (medium heat) and a dollop of sour cream.

Maui sweet onion mustard, which I bug everyone I know to bring me back from Hawaii.

Sambal Olek or Hot English Mustard.

marinelife's avatar

@tupara I have not heard of the first of those. Can you provide a link?

tupara's avatar

@Marina Sambal Olek (also spelt oelek) is minced pickled chilli of Indonesian Dutch origin.

marinelife's avatar

Is it hot? if so, I would love it.

tupara's avatar

Yes, it’s hot but not extreme. It varies by brand and the good ones have a delicious chilli taste without overpowering heat so you can use lots.

definitely malt vinegar. and honeycup mustard (little sweet, little hot=perfection)
orange marmalade is excellent on turkey sandwiches.

Major Grey’s Mango Chutney with Beef Curry. Horseradish. (husband hates all 3 so it doesn’t work out very well)
