What are some inexpensive ways to hard wire my iPod audio into my 2006 BWM Z4's audio system?

Asked by justinschier (1points) July 11th, 2008

I don’t want to use any kind of adapters you can buy at the apple store because they either suck or won’t work in my situation (no tape player, etc). Someone must have figured out a way to hard wire in an auxiliary jack for around $100—$150. I just want to connect audio only – I don’t need the iPod display to show up on the front panel or any nonsense like that. Who do I call?? The Z4 has a CD changer only.

Call the dealer, they will give u a solution :) do not try to find the inexpensive way, you can ruin your car…

Try Crutchfield on the web. You can get an interface kit for like 150 that will connect between the wiring (power, speakers, etc.) and the radio. Then you can stick the box in the glove and run the cable to the ipod. You can probably find one in a retail store as well. If you don’t care about the cd changer, you can disconnect the cd changer and get an interface kit that will connect to the cd changer harness. Then use the changer controls to control the ipod. Either requires an ipod with the dock connector.
