Follow @SQUEEKY’s thread about foreign nationals getting work in Canada.
You have to get a sponsor school to get you H-!B visa to work here. Contact your college or university to see if they have contacts or know of any openings for foreign teachers.

What education level? The requirements differ depending on who you want to teach.

You’ll have to get licensure. This varies between states, but I believe they’re more or less the same. For instance, in Mass you take two tests: a literacy/competency test and a test in your subject matter (in this case, elementary curriculum). You may also be required to take more education or child psychology classes.

But you would have to qualify for a work permit or green card before getting licensed. I find it hard to see this happening unless there is some kind of special program that would enable it. My DIL was able to work in Paris teaching English for a year but that was a special program at the university.

^^This is very true. Perhaps you could start off doing “self-employed” tutoring.

This is my dream…but to tell the truth I only see obstacles and no sure path. There has to be a way that I could be able to work in a school up there. I am coming up there with a Masters Degree and 5 years experience. Isnt there something i could do?? Or it just isnt possible for me to live in the US?

You need to talk to immigration experts. None of us can really give you the information you need. Contact the US Embassy or an immigration lawyer in Trinidad/Tobago.
