What are your thoughts on the passing of composer James Horner?

Asked by rockfan (14627points) June 23rd, 2015

Sadly, James Horner was killed at the age of 61 when his Embraer EMB 312 Tucano turboprop aircraft crashed into the Los Padres National Forest in southern California.

I think he was remarkably talented. I grew up with his music, especially the Titanic soundtrack. His talent will definitely be missed.

I was sorry to read of his death earlier today. I lived his music.

Sad to hear. Whether you like Celine Dion’s rendition of My Heart Will Go on (or whatever it’s called), he was an incredibly talented composer gone too soon. What a great loss for us all that he isn’t out there making beautiful music to go with the films we love to watch. He apparently used to work 16 hour days doing what he loved and he died doing something he also loved, flying his plane. So as a life goes, it sounds like a good one.
