What's the easiest way to resize an image to 1100 X 350 on a Mac?

Pretty self-evident from the title. Thanks!

Open the image in Preview, then go to Tools > Adjust Size. Bear in mind that the image quality may decrease if you are enlarging the image too much.

Preview also has cropping options if you just want part of the image.

Hi @SavoirFaire

I tried that but it won’t allow for 1100×350 dimension which my client requires. The person who is supposed to handle image edits is totally slacking and unresponsive. I’m not sure if the client wants 1100×350 mm or pixels or what but I just can’t seem to figure it out. :-/

Would almost have to be pixels. 1100×350mm can be expressed so many other ways more efficiently. Is it for the web?

Pixlr is good in a pinch.

1. Open your image
2. select the crop tool (upper left option in the tools panel)
3. Towards the top it will give you options to constrain by aspect ratio. Enter width 11.0, height 3.5 and crop as wide or long as you can.
4. Go to the “File” menu at the top, click “Save” and select your options. Tough to tell without seeing the image what options would be best, but defaults aren’t bad.

Happy to crop it and shoot it over to you if that works better. Send a message here if needed.

@LeavesNoTrace By default, Preview tries to maintain the aspect ratio of the image you are resizing. If that’s the problem, you need to click the lock in order to use the dimensions of your choice. If that doesn’t work, then I agree with @Ela and @funkdaddy that an online resource would better suit your needs. Preview is a very easy way to resize an image (probably the easiest on a Mac, which is what you were asking for), but it is not the most versatile way to do so.
