How do I reply to an answer to my question? I don't see a reply button.

Asked by KarenP (84points) April 16th, 2016

I’m trying to comment on an answer to my question, but can’t find a ‘reply’ button. All it is showing me is a button to answer the question.

There is no reply to specific answers to questions. You simply write a new answer. If you want to direct it to a specific user, type ”@” and then a list of people who are involved in the thread will appear (if you’re on a computer, but it’s different for mobile devices), and you pick the correct user.

To add to what @Hawaii_Jake wrote, Fluther users normally make any responses to comments in a single reply, rather than making a new comment for each reply. The @ symbol makes it clear who you are responding to.

Welcome to Fluther, @KarenP!

Make sure you allow Fluther via your script blocker, etc.

Perhaps try another browser. Say, if you’re on Chrome, try Firefox or IE. I had a version of Chrome that would not show response boxes on Fluther, and that’s the reason I don’t use Chrome.

You just use the @ character and put the user’s username after it. Sort of the same way you respond to a person on Twitter.

And btw, welcome to Fluter. Hope you stick around

We don’ need no buttons to reply. We need more adverbs. How do I reply? let me list some of the ways:
quickly
passionately
compassionately
liberally
conservatively
frequently
occasionally
thoughtfully
cryptically
pleasantly
politely
snarkily
humorously (or humourously, for some)
mystically
publicly
privately

We don’ need no buttons.
