Would the TSA consfiscate my spy glasses?

Asked by Mr_Saturn512 (558points) March 30th, 2017

I bought spy glasses recently. They have a camera inside of them. Would that show up on the x-ray in the TSA and if it does would they not like me having that? There’s nothing in the rules about such specific item.

I can think of no reason for them to have concern.
If you wear them when you check through, I doubt they would even notice.

These are commercial products right? They are not restricted items. Right? (You would know if they were.) There is no problem having them in your carry-on or luggage.

Don’t wear them. Some places do not allow pictures.

He said TSA, not NSA.~

I wouldn’t wear them through security because they might think you were trying to gather tactical information on their setup. Otherwise, I think you should be fine. I’d take out the battery and pack them.

(No one tell the TSA that all eyeglasses can be broken to produce sharp edges and pointy bits!)

Yeah I wasn’t thinking of wearing them when I went through – just leave them in the case in my carry on bag.

In a sane world, you would have nothing to worry about. But this is not a sane world. All you need is one power mad jerk looking for trouble and you could end up with a taser in your Speedos.
