When straining hot boiling water do you use it to clean the sink?

If there are already dirty dishes in the sink, it is so satisfying to pour the boiling water over them. I thought this was just me, haha.

I like to pour boiling water down my sinks. I am hoping it helps keep the pipes clear. I sometimes boil a large pot of water just for this purpose.
