On Facebook, is there a difference between posting on your "home" page and posting on your timeline?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46815points) May 8th, 2017

Recently I’ve been unable to post stuff on my homepage. I have to click on my name and go to my timeline to post. Do they both reach the same audience? They seem to. Do you know of any differences?

I believe they go to the same audience. I can’t think of any difference between the two. Unless “timeline” means you are posting it as a life event? but that doesn’t make sense.

Well, the only difference I can see is on my timeline I can only see what I’ve posted, and what those who have posted directly to me have posted, so I guess they’re the same.

ooooh I figured it out. Unless you have your stuff on private, so only you can see, everyone should be able to see it. Doesn’t matter if it’s posted on the home page or your timeline.
