My eyes get red throughout the day. How to stop it?

Asked by Sunshinegirl11 (1110points) February 13th, 2018 from iPhone

I work 14 hour shifts in a very dry environment. When I wear contacts or glasses my eyes get red. I have dry eyes so I thought regular eye drops would help, they don’t. Any suggestions? Is there specific eye drops for red eyes?

There are eyedrops for contact wearers and contacts that allow more air through. Worked for me.

I’ve never heard of “dry environment” as a particular reason for eye irritation or red-eye in general. Are you certain that there aren’t additional causes, such as the ambient air (caustic fumes, perhaps, or other chemical causes) or lighting?

Do you work with a screen? Lowering it allows your eyes to blink more naturally. Also, you might want to set a timer reminding you to take short breaks that will let your eyes focus on other things.
