What do kombucha and aloe vera juice taste like?

Asked by 2davidc8 (10189points) June 9th, 2018

I understand that these are “good” for you. But what do they taste like?
(I’ve heard that Natto is “good” for you, too, but that it’s really nasty tasting. No, thanks. Maybe kombucha and aloe vera taste good, I hope?)

Never heard of natto. Kambucha is an acquired taste to some. It’s slightly fizzy and tangy. I like it for sipping. It comes in many flavors. It’s non alcoholic.

I haven’t tasted aloe, but I’m sure it’s mild.

Kombucha DOES have alcohol in it, about 1–2% For a while, it had to be taken off shelves in some stores because it had too high an alcohol content. It tastes like a fizzy fruity tea.

Aloe vera juice is slightly sweet.

Natto ( fermented tofu) is best served in a stir fry with lots of vegetables and a good soy or hoisin sauce..

The one bottle of commercial Kombucha I had tasted like a skunky beer and had at least as much alcohol in it. Upon learning exactly what it it is the first time trying it was my last. You’re putting your health at odds with it just like you would with raw milk. Raw milk from a local dairy just put about nine kids in the hospital here

OK, thanks, everybody. For those of who drink it regularly, just what are the health benefits?

Same as regular tea with benificial bacteria that are supposed to aide digestion. It could also have harmful bacteria that can make you very sick as well. It’s essentially a wild fermentation so if you make your own you have to really know what you are doing.
