How do I train and recover from a dislocated knee?

Asked by HeNkiSdaBro (392points) August 21st, 2008

I dislocated my knee a good month ago now and all swollenness has gone down and there has been no blood below the skin or anything that looks too serious. Hoe should I now train my knee to recover properly? I have a very flexible rubber band I can use to train with.

I would contact the doctor who treated you for the dislocated knee and ask for a referral to a physical therapist in your area. They will know all of the parameters of your injury, your current health status, work w/ you on goals and be best suited to develop an appropriate, safe plan for you…..

One dislocated, you need to be careful not to re-injure it. It would be best to contact your doctor who will know if ligaments or tendons were stretched, and what type of program to recondition yourself would be safe.
