Best and reasonably priced monitors for video editing and gaming?

Asked by xTheDreamer (897points) November 16th, 2018

Hi all,

I’m preparing for the holiday deals that are coming up soon, such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Boxing Day etc. One of the things I wanted to get for the longest time now is a monitor. I’ve did some research but still couldn’t find the best and reasonably priced monitor for what I want.

I’m looking for a monitor thats great for video editing but also gaming. I don’t have the money to buy two monitors for each uses. So does anyone have an idea which monitor would be best for both uses? My price range is max €150, maybe €200 but would prefer it to be €150.

Thanks beforehand!

Last time I did such research for myself, I chose a Benq RL2460H, which I am still very happy with.

It is/was very popular with gamers, used for gaming conventions, etc, and has both a good picture and a very high performance for gaming (very little lag, etc). It also has a very nice clear picture and good colors.

It cost about that much IIRC back then, but in the US market, which is cheaper than the European market, so I imagine now you might be able to find them there for about your budget.

Doing a quick search, I find a Benq GL2460HM for £137.67 which seems to be very similar .

At least it’s a starting point for comparison.
