What is the best cell phone for taking pictures?

Asked by Vignette (2890points) November 3rd, 2019

I am due for a new cell phone, currently have an Android LG and see pictures posted that are such better quality than the ones I get out of my LG and wondering if anyone can suggest the best pic phone out today.

My DIL likes the iPhone 11 camera.

@janbb The 3 lenses looks interesting. Just wondering if that is 3x’s the mistakes or problems. Will go look at one.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note and it has replaced my camera for almost everything. It has a wide angle lens, a normal lens and a zoom.

Google’s “Pixel” phone, according to most tech youtubers.

@ragingloli I despise all Google products and try to avoid them Do you know who manufactures the phones for Goog?

Pixel 3a & 3a XL. The 4 was just released, but the photos aren’t much better.

I was recently at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC with my family. I stood side by side with my aunt, taking photos of the paintings. I have Samsung, she has iPhone. She noticed that the colors and details were so much more vivid with my Samsung than with her iPhone.

@jca2 Thanks! That is the kinda of comments I am looking for.

Go for the iPhone 11 Pro.

My Galaxy S9 is awesome! My daughter has the iPhone XR and it doesn’t compete. We’ve tested numerous color, images, and positions with various things and the iPhone is always either blurrier, less color and not as clear in general.

@deeprocks01 Can you be specific why I should go for the 11 Pro? What makes it the best camera cell phone?

Thanks @Coolhandluke This is the real world comments I was looking for. Color accuracy and ability to control or manipulate depth of field, shutter speed and low light capabilities are where I want to compare the most. Spec sheets and pretty picture online do not tell me how easy or how impossible it is to do that on my end. Not looking for mere point and shoot. I am looking for similar capabilities in the phone as my Nikon DSLR. I do see pics that I find are indeed done with a cell phone and want to know which one dammit! Your info is very helpful!
