Was there really no way for Americans to stop if not reduce these flights from China when Covid19 supposedly was already spreading?

According to a NYT Times article by Friedman…

—————

“While the coronavirus arrived in the U.S. via both Europe and Asia, most Americans probably don’t realize just how easy it was for this pathogen to get here.

From December through March, when the pandemic was launching, there were some 3,200 flights from China to major U.S. cities, according to a study by ABC News. Among those were 50 direct flights from Wuhan.”

It would have come to our shores sooner or later. There was no way on Earth to stop it.

Does it matter now?

Limit or suspend flights to and from China all you want. It would have made little difference.

Right, it might have delayed things for a week or a month, but that’s all. The US still wouldn’t have taken it seriously.

This was one of my initial thoughts. I pondered early warning clues to the potential severity of the disease. In particular, I searched the net for possibilities Corona virus 19 had root ties to earlier avian viruses. If birds- chicken, ducks, crows, etc,- were falling to it, being culled as a result, then how could these occurrences (nature’s own early warning system) be overlooked? If the virus crossed species, were small mammals falling ill to it, and the fact flying under the radar? Great Question.

What effed us rectally in Vietnam was feeling cocky and invincible.

The way 911 was so devastating was because Americans can’t tell the difference between inconvenience and loss of freedom. Airports, borders, overall security in civilian areas was allowed to be far too lax.

America needs to understand the need for security at all times, because at all times we have enemies somewhere.

The Chinese and the WHO were still saying that the virus was not transmitted human to human in January. The first case of Covid in the US was on January 21st. Trump put the travel ban in place on January 31st. Seems like the travel ban was put as early as possibl.
