I never really thought in terms of heroes.

I hadn’t heard he died. One of the greats for sure.

His accomplishments are amazing for sure. May he rest in peace.

I’ve never had heroes though. Just people I admire or find interesting.

RIP My dad worked at Edwards AFB in 1950’s. Scott Crossfield and Chuck Yeager were both test pilots then. Crossfield passed earlier this year. I played little league with Crossfield’s son.

One of my state, West Virginia’s finest hero’s. We have an airport and bridges named after him. I’m really proud to have someone like Chuck Yeager come from my state.

Oh no! He was a bad ass for sure. First man to break the sound barrier at a time when they had no idea what would happen when that happened.

Nope, I haven’t had any heroes since John Wayne passed. Always liked his movie persona. Best cowboy star ever. That said, RIP General Yeager.

I was thinking about my heroes, and they were mostly all in the space program, mostly. Yeager, Armstrong, Glenn, Shepard. These men were challengers of the unknown. They were all bad ass.

Well I know what movie we’ll be watching tonight.

Hayao Miyazaki is an artistic hero of mine, he’s almost 80 and he’s directing his last animated film called “How Do You Live”. I’m completely ecstatic about it.

I don’t really think in terms of heroes, but I can name a few whom I admire and who are still living. The Dalai Lama tops my list. And then I’d include Bob Dylan, Yo-Yo Ma, and Itzhak Perlman. I guess it’s a pretty short list now, but there must be a few others who will come to mind presently.

Most of the people I have looked up to are deceased, and some would not be public figures at all, much less celebrities.

What he went through when he ejected from that flight is the stuff of nightmares.
The movie didn’t even approach how harrowing it was.

@filmfann….and when he figured out why all those planes were augering in….so he flew his in reverse to get it to earth….it was insane. Some Boeing factory worker was given the blue prints of the plane. His response was “This is BS. I know which way a bolt should run!”
So he installed them upside down to the blueprint plans. Killed 4 men.

I hadn’t heard.
Sean Connery passed recently.
I’m meaning to watch his movie about the wee folk, but that will hurt. He wasn’t a hero, but he was great to see. The Rock, Dragonheart, Darby O’Gill, Entrapment.

My greatest hero was my paternal grandma.
She passed decades ago.
I wish I would have thought to compile her story when I had the chance.
Everytime I saw the Prudential commercials featuring The Rock, it always made me think of her, even through my early childhood. Noone seemed more solid to me than her. I hope she had no doubts about how much I loved and respected her.

Yeager was “a” hero, but she was MY hero. So, I guess my answer is no. I don’t have any more heroes still alive.
