What do you think of Elon Musk's point of view in the following article?

It’s going to happen regardless of what any pundit (or anyone else) thinks or predicts. The price has already spiked beyond that necessary to render prohibitively costly extraction methods now lucrative. And the rush is on!

I generally think nothing of anything that dude has to say. His opinions just don’t matter to me.

I’d rather invest that money in accelerating renewable options. Fossil fuels becoming more expensive is a good thing and will drive innovation in solar, battery, and electric transportation.

The amount of oil and gas imported to the US from Russia is minor, so in many ways Musk is once more blowing smoke out his ass. A focus on renewables would help much more.

@gorillapaws that’ll happen simultaneously. The question is whether or not we will have the sense this time to retain a viable share of the riches generated.
