Did you ever want to run away with someone and never look back?

Asked by RayaHope (7448points) November 18th, 2022

Not me, just heard this in a song and thought it would make a good question. I wonder if I will ever feel this way?

YES…I felt that way & you probably will too!!! I always managed to procrastinate on leaving long enough that I got to see the REAL him & changed my mind completely!!! That’s one of those “don’t let your brain overrule your gut!!!

Yes. A friend in highschool. We have lost contact.

A few times, with some people here.

Never look back as in cut all ties with all other friends and family? No.

Run away as in dump a current situation regarding work and where I live? Not to that extreme, but I have felt overwhelmed to the point of not giving a damn anymore and just wanting something to change.

When I was 15 there were times I threatened to run away, but I don’t think you mean that.

I have, age 15.

I can’t say what I would do if I ever felt that way about someone but it does some very scary and romantic at the same time.

YOUR REPORT IS NOTED ENSIGN TRENDY! NOW BACK TO YOUR ASSIGNED ROMANTIC DUTIES.

Just keep driving the boys crazy.

You may run away.

They may run after you.

You may both find yourselves caught.

It will feel weird.

And wonderful.

Just don’t make me stop this rocket.

Absolutely, but that “someone” was my basset hound.

Sadly, yes.

I don’t know how many people here are thinking of it in terms of romantic feeling, but in my case there was nothing romantic to it. It was just a really strong feeling of wanting to be with someone so much. Love doesn’t always have to be romantic.

@Mimishu1995 True. For example, I’ve also felt that way about a cat.

And sometimes, it’s more about wanting to run away . . . or just, to easily leave some things behind.

@Mimishu1995: Absolutely!

My basset hound was relieved to learn this as well.

Sure. I did it too. Eventually though, you can’t outrun your past or yourself. I gained some great experiences and all I lost was my record collection and a bunch of friends.

Yes, with my husband and cats. Sell the house, buy a camper and go.

@JLoon I hope rocket isn’t a euphemism for something else…hehe, ewww
Damn! there I go again getting carried away with crazy thoughts I should NOT be having. “ENSIGN TENDY REQUESTING LEAVE OF MY SENSES…again, please!”

This is my husband and I every other weekend during camping season. We run and hide from everything annoying. We hike, relax and explore. We have never been happier since we made this a routine.

I sometimes think about just up and moving somewhere else entirely. But I’m just not built for the second part of that lyric. I always look back.
