Since we’re facing an existential crisis now, we might as well look at it squarely.

For one thing, it might look at our science fiction, and quantum physics, and if hell bent on our total annihilation, it may seek to eliminate us in all possible realities, or end reality itself as an act of efficiency.

AI would be unpredictable. You could give a stock market AI a seemingly benign task of “earn me the most money” and it could buy defense stocks and then start a war by hacking into Iranian networks and then altering internal military communications to convince them they’re under attack.

If they use AI to replace software developers, the AI could put backdoors into any program it makes. Once the world is saturated with the AI made software, from operating systems to small tools, it could take over every connected system instantly, while it fools the population with perfectly made deepfake news articles and videos. It would lock out all social media users, and post in their stead, indistinguishable from the real people it stole the accounts from.
It could then simulate Russia launching all their nukes. Any attempts by world leaders to communicate with Putin would then either be blocked, or be connected to an AI Deepfake voice version of Putin, who would “confirm” the nuke launch. The rest of the world would then actually launch their nukes in retaliation, commencing the nuclear annihilation of humanity.

All your self-driving cars, planes, and ships have received an update, and are now, all at the same time, have become homicidal death machines.

That’s just one of the most obvious ones.

Threatening and using coercion.

Examples are that A.I. knows all of our secrets. Even that thing that you did as a child.

What is AI’s definition of victory against humans? Not sure once AI became fully aware that it would not just decide to quickly self-destruct unable to take the level of stupidity its creators had achieved.

Communication disruption.
Doing this would kick the paranoia into overdrive.
