I think he is running scared and desperate. His comment yesterday about “wanting to start slitting throats” is sort of a last ditch showing of bravado and appealing to radicals. You don’t make last ditch statements unless you’re, well, close to the end.

Politicians, as we have seen, are a very strange type of person -with egos the size of blimps.

So DeSantis probably thinks he can be president, but the number of people who agree with him (and will spend money on him) is going down.

I’m not sure he still thinks he can. I agree that he’s running scared by promising to pardon trump, the slitting throats comment (as noted in the comment above mine) and his aggressiveness in trying to control the educational system in his state. He is so afraid that kids will learn about real life such as sex (gasp), races other than whites, and history as it really happened. I wouldn’t want him as anything in my state, let alone president.

I am going nowhere near trying to put myself into his mind.

Sure. After all, he’s a megalomaniac nutcase and would-be dictator, and the GOP is insane and currently still focused on criminal megalomaniac nutcase Trump, who is going DOWN, and if DeSantis’ actions leading up to this make sense to him, then why would he not still think the same way?

Maybe. He’s good look

I don’t think he was ever seriously running. He always seems to jump in to deflect bad news for 45. He originally wanted to run in 2028 & I think he still will but he does NOT seem serious for 2024 although he’s playing the game very well.
