Did anyone hear McCain call Palin a "breast of fresh air" last night, and then correct himself?

I could have sworn he did, but don’t see it in any news stories on the debate.

No, but between Joe the Plummer, smiling with his eyes, and this, I wish I’d watched it instead of Project Runway!

Just kidding. I DVR’d the debate. if you can tell me approximately when it happened, I can get a clip up later.

I didn’t catch it, but I heard someone else make the same charge.

did you want him to talk about her breasts?

What I thought I heard was: “breash of freth air” which he changed to “breath of fresh air”
Didn’t hear breast.

It was an easy slip of sounds, I did not hear “breast”, I heard “breash of freth” like jvgr. It was quickly corrected. I love to point out McCain flaws, but since I do that all the time (I call it verbal dyslexia), I shouldn’t be hard on him now.

I heard him grasping at any straw he could but didn’t happen to notice his mention of breasts.

I didn’t see him grasping at any either.

Oh, now that you mention it, bresh of freth does ring a bell, didn’t think about breast. I think it was more a juxtaposition than a Freudian slip.

I do however get the feeling every time I see McCain staring at Palin’s ass that when he says he “vetted” her, it is some sort of reference to him being a “vet”.

@tonedef: don’t you dare talk trash about Project Runway. Not here, not ever.

…but it was a little anti-climactic, right?

tonedef's avatar

@EmilyNathon: I’ve been a devotee since that shriveled-up corn husk dress sashayed down that runway, but season 5 was a total letdown. At least SPOILER

Leanimal walked away with the prize! Now, we sit back and watch the heated court battle.

A Freudian slip is when you say one thing but mean your mother.

Never mind that, what about McCain’s audible grunting while Obama was speaking? I thought they were going to call in EMS because it sounded like he was having a heart attack.

Trance24's avatar

I remember that. It sounded like that at least.

Here’s the actual footage from the debate, though I don’t remember all of it. Maybe I nodded off for a second?

Sounds like Bresh to me.

I try to keep a breast of things but this one escaped me.
