Can I clean furniture upholstery myself?

Asked by somebodiesandnobodies (37points) October 28th, 2008

Everything I’ve found says that a professional should do it, but that’s not exactly in my budget. Any suggestions for how to do it myself? Thanks!

Usually steam cleaners for carpets come with a tool for upholstery. You just need to try it first on a hidden area of the furniture to make sure it’s ok. I’ve done it before and it works out great. You can rent these machines at Home Depot or some grocery stores. Just follow the directions for upholstery. Good Luck!

There are also spray-on cleaners that you vacuum off.
