When I try to answer a question and click on answer, it won't do anything, is there something I am missing?

try emptying your browser cache. You’re using Internet Explorer?

can you explain how to do that she don’t know how to, or what that is. she is my best friend and she asked me to ask you she can’t get in to ask you here. thank you.

and she is on dial up if that makes any differance.

okay, assuming she has the newest version of Firefox, it should ask something like “Delete private data?” when she closes it. Clicking yes should delete the Cache

Also, it might help to simply reboot the computer.

Lemme know if that helps, then we’ll go from there

other than that:

In Firefox, click on “TOOLS”

in the opening dialogue click on “ADVANCED”, that’s the one all the way to the right that looks like a cog.

In the “ADVANCED” window there are four tabs: General, Network, Update and Encryption

Click Network

There is a button that says clear now

Voila, cache cleared

In the “Tools” dropdown menu in Firefox, there is an option that says “Clear Private Data.” Click that and another little menu pops up with different kinds of private data that can be deleted. Check the “Cache” box and hit “Clear Private Data Now.”

Macbean and TaoSan there is no little menu that pops up. this is from her: when she types in an answer it says to check her work and like before she couldn see what she was typing, she can’t see that now and when she clicks on an answer it woun’t do anything.

Maybe she has some hardcore firewall running that started blocking scripts?

Norton Internet Security or ZoneAlarm maybe.

Best advise I have now is to try using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, just to see what happens.

That happens to me sometimes, too, and I follow the steps I gave and the problem is solved. :( She’s using the same OS and browser as me, and I’m even on dial-up as well. So I’m not sure what else the problem could be.

since we see her type, and merely the submit button fails my money is on a blocked script.

Unfortunately that’s above me now though.

I am on firefox usually, but I keep internet explorer around, cause I do like it, I am testing the waters here to see if this will work, and I want to thank you all if it does, how very kind of all of you to be so willing to help a stranger!
