Would an African Parakeet eat Austrailian Parakeet food?

Asked by MrMontpetit (1843points) November 22nd, 2008

I ran out of African Parakeet bird food, and asked a friend to pick me some up. He accidentally got Australian Parakeet food, and I haven’t tried to feed it to my bird yet, but I’m wondering if she’d even eat it? I guess the only way to find out is to try, but oh well.

They’re both parakeets.

Also, I googled the to different kinds to see if there was any difference, and they have an almost identical ingredients list. The one your friend bought has more variety in it on average. Seems like he did you a favor.

Don’t feed ‘em Rice Crispies, what ever you do!

Consider their evolving taste buds. Good for them.

As long as their nutritional requirements are the same, I’m guessing it should work fine. But if one eats a lot of fruit, and the other eats only something else, you’re likely to have a problem.
