How do I get an iodine stain out of a hardwood floor?

Asked by b (1873points) September 12th, 2007

I spilled some iodine on my hardwood floor. Scrubbing with soap helped a bit, but I noticed it has faded with time (1 week). Any tips on getting it all the way out?

Rub with a cloth dampened in a solution of household ammonia and water. If this is not effective, saturate the cloth in the solution and place it over the stain until the stain is removed.
