A person usually will say they “lost everything” when really they lost just a few things, but things that they really cared about, a spouse, a parent for example. When I accidentally spilled my last glass of $30.00 a bottle Gray Goose vodka, I felt like I lost everything. It was just too got-damn tragic & I didn’t even think about anything else that was in my life.

Hi pathfinder. I think it’s restful to know I’m on the bottom. I feel safe. I rest.
Then I get up.
Tell me, is it possible that the bottom IS the aboard among everything and nothing?

I don’t know. I am fortunate in that I have never been there.

You can lose your job. You can lose your home. You can lose your car but these are only material things that are bought and sold.

You may even lose the love of your family and friends but if you have yourself you haven’t lost it all.

Sometimes we are put in situations where we need to start over fresh and learn from our mistakes or our misfortunes. At times these setbacks can be a stepping stone for something greater.

You have lost everything when you have lost hope, though in reality, you may have lost nothing. Hope in the goodness of life and future is everything. Without it, there is only nothing…...

You have lost everything when you lose the will to live.

“It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything”
i really couldn’t resist quoting fight club, though it’s not really an answer

i think that regardless of whether you’ve lost everything by definition or just by your standards, it hardly makes a difference. if you feel strongly enough that you’ve lost everything, i’d think it would evoke the same feeling as if everyone else approved the fact that you had.

Great answers.I thing that i have a lost the most value and that is art of feelings. Thanks all of you….......................................................................

pathfinder, it’s hard to grasp exactly what you mean because your grammar is choppy. You seem to say that feelings are an art, implying that they can be controlled. wouldn’t it be better to let you feelings be natural? Are you an artist? Artists don’t usually manipulate their feelings.
