Any Cal Poly alums on fluther?

Cal Poly SLO? I went to Cuesta College nearby. Lived the life there and had many friends from Cal Poly. SLO Days was awesome! This was 1990–1992.

Cal Poly SLO or Pomona? I lived in Morro Bay from 2000–2007, minus a year for travel. I got my first M.A. at Cal Poly, SLO – Education, my husband majored in Journalism and was a DJ at KCPR.

Advice/Ideas/Suggestions?:

1. Get your work done, and then stick around and help “liberalize” that area.

2. Oh, and I never got a ticket in my 20 years of driving. I moved there and got 2 tickets in 1 year. Don’t speed, seriously, even though ‘tis tempting on those empty, open roads.

3. Go to the Palm Theatre (on Palm St.) I think was the first solar-powered movie theatre

4. Frequent the delicious farmer’s market on Thursday Nights.

5. Listen to KCPR

6. Hike in Montana De Oro

7. Eat at the best bakery in the area Hush Harbor in Atascadero – yummy

@Megan- the farmer’s market and Montana De Oro. What memories! Is Tacos Acapulco still there? They had the best quesadillas ever! I spent too much time in Morro Bay and Pirate’s Cove, not enough time in class, that’s why I moved back home to the Midwest.
@peyton- Enjoy the beauty of the area, but not too much that it keeps you from getting those good grades.

8. Also, eat delicious fish tacos at Taco Temple in Morro Bay…and save room for desssert!
