Are there any good websites about alternative outdoor education?

Asked by basdelaine (2points) February 3rd, 2009

I am looking for information about outdoor education. An alternative education where students spend a few months outside learning.
Or information about how to get trained to be a teacher in that type of school and environment.
Any good websites to suggest?

One of my friends almost went to Northland College which seems to be along the lines of what you are thinking of.

Beyond that, perhaps look for agg related summer camps? Something like this?

It’s pretty dependent upon where you live and what level of education you’re interested in i.e. high-school, post-secondary. I know here, in British Columbia, Canada, there are a vast number of options in terms of outdoor ed.

I’d recommend going to a local university/college if you can and inquire there, if they don’t have any programs, certificate or full degree, they should have information about schools that do.
