Can you help me remember?

Asked by Foolaholic (5804points) February 15th, 2009

You know that bucket that people keep near the door, to put umbrellas and canes in? I swear to (insert deity here) that it has a specific name, I just can’t remember it! It’s keeping me from finishing my story, and I need help!

just what the hell is an umbrella stand? o.O I guess I’ve been in warm non-rainy climates too long.

An umbrella stand is a ceramic, metal or wood vase, about 24 inches high, with a diameter of approximately 10 inches, designed to sit on the floor and hold umbrellas and canes. Could be made out of other materials as well. Looks something like this.
