Google, Google and Google some more. I did this for iron rich foods just 2 days ago and there is a plethora of great information. Also, do what your Dr. told you, but I do find that slow release iron supplements (like slow-fe) are far easier on your system.

you just have to be careful because you could get too much iron in your system and thats kind of bad as for what foods to use i agree with @bythebay google is your friend and so is the doctor go back to the GP and say they make you ill , yet this may be how they work i dont know ?! ask the GP

Are you taking the iron supplement on an empty stomach? That can make you queasy.

No, I usually take it around 20 to 30 minutes after I eat dinner, I’m not sure what the problem is..

You may not be able to get enough iron in your diet if you are anemic. Let the doctor know about the pills making you sick. They can suggest something.

When pregnant, I could not take the prenantals because too much Iron makes me sick. I took Flinestone vitamins, you could try that if you don’t want to change your diet.

Green leafy things are usually high in iron, and you’re kinda supposed to be eating them anyways…I forget them a lot of the time though.

Blackstrap Molasses has 20% iron I usually take it with soy milk cause I don’t like the taste of it alone. But you can probably look up recipes with this ingredient and eat it that way.

Dried apricots are also a good source. I found a package that had 20% iron per serving.

Spinach, kelp, Chard, Collards (Dark Leafy Greens) also has good iron content. Eat them raw or lightly steamed. You can also juice them with carrots and beets which will help build up a blood.

Beans are another good source. Just look on the Nutritional Facts and choose the ones with the highest number.

You might also want to add vitamin C to your diet to help your body absorb more iron that’s what I do.

Oh and I’m not a doctor but this is what I have done for myself since my Iron always seems to be low.
