Well, about two weeks ago my boyfriend said, “I love you so much it is kind of weird.” I’m 23.

“Spaghetti O’s have got nothin’ on you babe”. College boyfriend. He loved Spaghetti O’s. He was serious. I didn’t cry but I was pretty happy. Years later I told a girlfriend that I loved her more than the Brewers. She said “The baseball team or the people who work at Miller?” I said “both”. I meant it.

“Is that it?”

“it’s okay- I love you anyway”

I work in TV. I was at the beginning of a show, wearing my intercom headset when our (female) graphics operator, having just heard me on the ‘com, said, “I thought I recognized that cognac-smooth voice…” It was an unexpected, beautiful compliment, delivered very sincerely. It really made me smile.
