I did believe this with several partners and several partners did not understand. Now I believe there are some things best kept to other confidants.

No. There are some things she, like many others, can not understand. For those things, I need to talk to people who have been there.

There are some things best confided in someone other than your partner, and frankly there are some things best kept secret. The idea of not telling, of keeping information entirely to yourself, may seem unlikely in 2009 but it is a real option. All relationships have limits as well as amazing capacity for understanding.

There are always things she won’t understand.. but that’s just life.

Mostly. He still doesn’t understand why I don’t consider cloves cigarettes though.

When I was with my ex, I could tell him anything. I still can tell him just about anything, and we broke up almost a year ago.
