I’m getting in the car in a little bit and driving to Palm Springs for an Indigo Girls concert. If I wasn’t doing that, I’d probably be taking the bikes off Hwy 94 somewhere and going biking.

It is a nice day- starting to get a bit warm though! I actually preferred the overcast of the last few days.

@crisw how fun that will be for you.

I know this might sound very guy-like but go visit the aircraft carrier Nimitz in San Diego Bay. It is quite amazing.

@TheLoneMonk nah i like guy things too and i like men so it would probably be a good opportunity for me.

I’m driving up to Disneyland in a few minutes. They just opened up a new dinner show, sor of like the Hoop De Do review in Disney World. I don’t think I’ll see it this time, but it is probably fun (and different.)

laurenigula's avatar

@Judi that sounds amazing. I haven’t seen the Hoop De Do, but I have been to Disneyland probably more times than anyone wishes to count and let me tell you, they do need some new shows.

It is a dinner show. I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s nice to know when something new happens. They are going to be doing something new in the theater where Woppie Goldberg had that California show in California adventure too. I can’t wait to see what happens there!

Here’s the link to the Disney Celebration Round-Up Bar-B-Q

@Judi awesome thank you! My birthday is in a couple of weeks and I’m going to do the get in free day so maybe I can check it out then.

Balboa park is always a good idea for me… i’ll take the dogs to nate’s point or cruise the museums.. there’s always something new going on at most of them… then there’s weekend activities all around the place in balboa… have you gone to the Japanese Friendship garden or the international village?

laurenigula's avatar

@Dr_C Not that I don’t love Balboa Park, but I think I’ve done close to everything under the sun there. THe international village is going on tomorrow, I’ve done it but it’s always worth a good trip.

@laurenigula

I can always spend an hour or so browsing around in the UN gift shop there as well.

@laurenigula have you checked out the DaVinci exhibit they have going? mock-ups of his inventions at Reuben H. Fleet… then there’s the Van Gogh Exhibit…

Oh, what I wouldn’t give to be lounging on the balcony in my beach condo right now. When I’m in San Diego, after an hours walk on the boardwalk, I sit there with my laptop on my lap and Fluther to my heart’s content to the sound of the ocean. This business of sitting out by my pool, like I am now, 500 miles away, is just a pale second to that.

@YARNLADY
You have a condo in San Diego? Where at?

we should have a get-together of all these San Diego folks!

YARNLADY's avatar

@crisw I rent a condo in San Diego, at the Capri By the Sea, or an apartment at the Beach Cottages.

Used our annual passports at Disneyland today. Didn’t go to the BBQ thing and the park was crowded. We just went shopping, saw the tiki birds in the tiki room and had a great time. No other rides, just people watching. Fun day.

@Judi Those are pretty much the best days at Disneyland. My pop’s went yesterday, he said the bbq was about 28 bucks for adults so I can pass. Tiki room and pineapple whip is the best way to go.
