Will you read Dan Brown's new book?

Asked by lataylor (545points) April 21st, 2009

I enjoyed Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code and am very excited to learn he is finishing another book that comes into print in mid September. Are you also excited about this new book?

I really liked Angels and Demons. I will probably get the new one too.
I was kind of put off when he claimed priory of sion to exist for real though, but he is a great fiction writer

Totally! Angels & Demons was great (better than DaVinci Code IMO), and the first two of his weren’t half bad. If anything, it will hopefully raise some interesting questions, or at least make me excited about a new topic!

Oh, if my husband picks it up in PB at the grocery store and gives in a B+ or better, I expect I will. Angels and Demons was entertaining, but not enough in my book to pull up his average very much after The Da Vinci Code.

Nope. The Da Vinci Code was the book that killed my policy of always finishing a book once I started it. And by this I mean I finished it and asked myself why I had bothered. It felt like a waste of time to me. On the plus side I didn’t bother getting any more than ten pages into the Historian before discarding it. So I suppose Dan Brown deserves a little thanks for that.

Not my kind of reading I guess.

Unless I hear awesome reviews I won’t. Angles & Demons and his other two books were pretty awesome, but Da Vinci Code was lame.

Ill probably end up reading it. Im with benjaminlevi, Da Vinci code was lame as hell, yet it was the most popular.(yay jesus) Angels and Demons was a much better book, Deception Point(isopods :P) and Digital Fortress were good reads too.

@uberbatman: Lurve. I totally agree on all of those.

Deception Point sucked! I forgot that he wrote that. Nevermind, my enthusiasm his declined dramatically

But it had glowy sea life! :’(

lataylor's avatar

No. It sucked. It really sucked. That’s it. I am not going to read the next book.

but….but…but….isopods

I didn’t know about it. Sure, I’ll read it. Though after having read all of the previous ones he becomes a little predictable. It’s a bit like the Agatha Christie novels (which I read all in one go when I was 12). It’s always the butler who done it.

Yeah I will, Da Vinci code was alright until they made the movie. Angels and Demons was very good. Digital Fortress is my favorite of Dan Brown’s book by far, and Deception Point was also a fantastic read.
Any clue to what it will be about?

OpryLeigh's avatar

I loved The Da Vinci Code but it depends what his new book is about.

El_Cadejo's avatar

@joeysefika not sure, but i know its featuring Robert Langdon again.

asmonet's avatar

@uberbatman: …again.

::eye roll::

@asmonet yea i dont know.. I mean angels and demons was great, but divinci blew, so hopefully this one will rebound and be half as good as A&D
