Will my doctor just give me a new prescription?

Asked by punkrockworld (960points) May 11th, 2009

2 months ago I went to the doctor and she prescribed 6 months of birthcontrol for the first time. She also gave me a sample, which is one month. My month is about to end and I just realized I must have lost my prescription and I have 12 days left. What’s the best thing to do?
Will the doctor just write me a new prescription or what? Thanks!

If you call and explain the situation, they should give you a new one. You can ask them to call it in to your pharmacy for you, too.

I’m sure they’ll probably just write you another prescription, it’s not like it’s a narcotic. Plus, if you have prescription insurance, you can only get so much birth control every 30 days (usually, depends on your insurance) so its not like you’ll have a surplus of birth control.

If it’s far, ask them to call it into the pharmacy. Just give them the pharmacy number.

They’ll have no issues with renewing your birth control pills.

Probably, it’s not a narcotic or anything.
