What are some of your favorite music/MP3 blogs? Sources for new music?

Asked by creativejuices (490points) June 11th, 2009

I like when MP3 blogs offer a song or 2 for download… strictly for sampling purposes only

I will get the ball rolling:
MYOKB
I guess I’m Floating
Hype Machine
CBC Radio 3
and I know it’s not a blog but… BBC Radio 1 – Zane Lowe is an amazing source music.

The best one I have found is last.fm

@FireMadeFlesh: I listen to Last.fm every day while I work!

@creativejuices I would listen to it more often if I had a decent download limit, but I need to be careful with what I stream to make sure it doesn’t go over the limit. I basically only use it to find new music when I tire of what I have.

I’ll go with the heavyweights of music blogs. Stereogum (Which has a large collection of free mp3’s) and Pitchfork.

And Pandora Radio is better than last.fm’s radio function for suggesting new music.

@dverhey those are some of my constants… ! Ya, we all have such great taste!

Pandora. Absolutely the best.

Last.Fm & Pandora are amazing and I listen to them daily.

But I also wanted to know about the music blogs, specifically the ones who offer a few mp3s to sample. Because those few songs are usually amazing and they make me want to go out and buy the entire album. The ones that I mentioned, stereogum and pitchfork have mp3s to download.

I love Blip.fm. You can use it to send links to songs in Twitter and other social media very easily. Also, it is way easier to pick and choose than I have found on other sites like Last.fm.

Seriously, you can’t even do that on other sites but you can easily link it to Last.fm and others and choose your favorite DJs to play like stations (sort of like on Pandora)
