I have found Cheer with color guard is awesome. I’ve used it for years & my clothes never fade. You must try it.

Also, make sure you wash in cold, and machine dry only if necessary.

I 2nd what andrew says about washing only in cold, it still cleans but doesn’t swell the weave and nap of fabrics as much so they don’t rub and get as worn looking. Also, I’ve used a variety of “free & clear” detergents with no perfume, no dye and no fabric softener. Fabric softener breaks down the weave of some fabrics making them feel soft but also making them look worn and worn makes colors look dulled.

I use Gain in cold water, I only wash towels and bedding in hot water. I’ve never noticed my clothes fading.
