For those of you who own a Xbox 360, has your system had any problems?

Asked by Elerie (135points) July 21st, 2009

Have you had the 3 red lights of death or a dvd drive problem? How many times? Did Microsoft fix it for free? Have you joined the lawsuit against Microsoft?

oh yes…

the newer models apparently have a lot of the more minor bugs fixed. but mine was one of the first ones to come out. So naturally it was hellish and annoying. Most times you have to take it into a private shop or microsoft retailer and get it fixed, unless you bought a warranty with it I guess.

I got RROD within a few months, having bought the xbox about a year after release. I shipped it for repair, got it back after a little over a month, and I think they replaced it with a new console with a fix for the bug, and no real problems since then.

If Microsoft agrees to fix it, taking the case to court seems frivolous.

My son’s just got an E47 error – Microsoft is replacing it outside of the original warranty.

I’ve owned my 360 since release day a few years back. Over the span, I’ve encountered RROD about 3 times. All 3 times resulted in a hasty replacement unit from Microsoft. I am not disappointed one bit. The system is fantastic and it’s online network is as yet unmatched by any other console system. The warranty and service are spectacular.

I’ve had to send mine in 3 times. Each time they fixed it for free and gave me another month of live service.

I wish it were a little more stable, but I’ve been very pleased with the service.

I have not! I have been lucky and my console has never shown any signs of problems nor red rings. Mine is a few years old.

We had one red ring of death problem, and MS fixed it for free.
