What food are you unable to stop eating?

Asked by RafBM (100points) July 21st, 2009

If there’s only one to choose, what’s the food you just can’t stop eating until you’ve completely finished it? Are you more of a classic kind with potato chips or ice cream, or a weirdo like me and my… old cheddar cheese… Mmhh?

Chocolate chip cookies.
Sweet cantaloupe.
Pineapple.
.... to name a few.

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

sugar…. doesn’t really matter in what form… I’m a fiend.

dark chocolate is definitely in my top 5 though. eating it right now

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

@Allie Cantaloupe? that’s random. I feel like a ten year old now. we’ve got fruits, cheese, and prime rib, then I come out of left field and say sugar, how mature of me XD.

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

watermelon is one. Usually I can be fairly moderate when it comes to food, but fresh picked watermelon is something I can’t stop eating.

gunther's avatar

Ice cream!

Allie's avatar

@ABoyNamedBoobs03 Ha, sweet cantaloupe. It has to be sweet. And I said chocolate chip cookies too. They have sugar.

jrpowell's avatar

Nacho Cheese Doritos and Philadelphia cream cheese.

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

@Allie there’s sweet ones? the hell have I been missing?????

Allie's avatar

@ABoyNamedBoobs03 Wow. You’ve been eating shitty cantaloupe if it’s not sweet.

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

why did you not speak of this before? I blame you for years of sour cantaloupe.

Likeradar's avatar

Jelly Bellys
Oreos
M&Ms

I pretty much don’t keep any junk food in the house because I’m incapable of putting it away.

Allie's avatar

@ABoyNamedBoobs03 Eat your dark chocolate, Snookums.

kettle cooked potato chips

Facade's avatar

I used to eat a whole pint of chocolate haagen-dazs in one sitting even though I knew I’d be sick and fat afterwards. Now I just eat their sorbet :)

BBSDTfamily's avatar

dill pickles… makes my mouth water everytime I even think about them. Literally. It’s the only food that I have an immediate physical response to when I think about it.

Makstarn's avatar

Blueberry cereal with rice dream. Every day for years now.

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

@Facade holy moses…. that’s a lot of chocolate… tip of the hat to you, my friend, bravo.

kheredia's avatar

mint n’ chip ice cream.. i’m craving some right now actually.

augustlan's avatar

Bacon.
Peanut M & Ms and/or mini Snickers.
Chili with sour cream, cheddar cheese, onions, avocados and Tostitos chips.

Now I’m hungry dammit.

Jack79's avatar

Pork. I hear all these diets where you’re allowed to eat meat, but it’s always something like chicken breast, which tastes almost as bad as lettuce. I could give up pork only if I was allowed to eat chicken legs and other fatty meats instead (I like veal as goulash or schnitzel, but it’s not the same).

There’s plenty of other things I love (chocolate comes to mind) but I’ve been able to give up all of them when on a diet/fasting.

skfinkel's avatar

blueberries.

cookieman's avatar

@Tink1113: Then my work here is done.

Tink's avatar

@cprevite Well, except some food

whatthefluther's avatar

I am a sucker for the four “A” foods, in any manner or form:
Apples
Artichokes
Asparagus
Avocados
with a big nod also to:
Olives
Pickles
also in any form or variety.
If any of the above is served to me, consider it gone!

Grisaille's avatar

Grapes and sunflower seeds.

Goddamn it, they’re both way too addictive.

tedibear's avatar

Doughnuts, black olives, tortilla chips with nacho cheese sauce and toast. Yes, toasted white, wheat or rye bread.

irocktheworld's avatar

Pizza!!! Olives!! Cookies and Cream ice cream!!! Cheese!!!! Pickles!!!
Wow….Now I’m hungry…:)

Velvetinenut's avatar

Cheese. Tried to stop. heh heh, yeah, right.

row4food's avatar

Pistachios are my weakness.

tedibear's avatar

@row4food, I had that problem until I accidentally bit on a pistachio shell and broke a piece of tooth. It wasn’t the pistachio’s fault, but it broke the addiction pretty quickly!

ubersiren's avatar

The other night I ate a whole jar of green olives. I blame that on the pregnancy, though.

I can’t stop eating mashed potatoes, pizza, bacon, Ben and Jerry’s Key Lime Pie ice cream.

gailcalled's avatar

I thought I could not give up ice cream until I was unable to button my jeans. After three weeks, I no longer miss it. Noting what the scales read balances things out.

jonsblond's avatar

Town House crackers with Wisconsin bacon cheddar cheese spread. Add some summer sausage and I’m in heaven!

cookieman's avatar

@jonsblond: Stop talking dirty to me, dammit.

You, um, were talking to me, right?

sjmc1989's avatar

@ubersiren WAIT! WHAT?! Ben and Jerry’s has Key Lime Pie ice cream? Dreams really do come true :)

jonsblond's avatar

@cprevite You are my favorite cookie you know!

growler's avatar

Hummus with anything, preferably garlic hummus and Trader Joe’s masala naan.

whatthefluther's avatar

@ubersiren….Thank you…now I can blame my olive addiction on your pregnancy (have you tried the ones stuffed with garlic or almonds or jalapenos?)!

cookieman's avatar

OK, here’s another that I just ate for lunch: Homemade Basil & Garlic Pesto

@jonsblond: Damn tootin’.

DominicX's avatar

Watermelon, cantaloupe, original Goldfish, and I probably could have a burrito every day for the rest of my life. But I wouldn’t because of the risk of getting tired of them. :)

autumn43's avatar

Chocolate covered raisins (can get quite a stomach ache from eating them non-stop…), Non-pariels, Swedish fish, Polish sausage, French fries (real ones – potatoes cut up and fried in oil at home, in my pan, on my stove), jelly belly beans, Russell Stover chocolates with strawberry nougat, molasses covered in chocolate, and bacon!

ubersiren's avatar

@sjmc1989 : YES. It’s a limited batch! Run out and get it while you still can! I don’t know what the hell I’m going to do when they don’t make it anymore. It’s divine. Although, Ciao Bella makes one, too, that I haven’t tried yet. I may have to when B&J’s breaks my heart.

ubersiren's avatar

@hungryhungryhortence : OH MY GOD, HOW DID I FORGET THAT?! I fucking LOVE baklava. I can’t even tell you how much I’ve eaten at one time because it’s too embarrassing…

irocktheworld's avatar

@ubersiren Baklava is soo fucking good!!!! :)
I’m just curious but are you armenian?

ubersiren's avatar

@irocktheworld : No, I’m just a fat European American.

Tink's avatar

@ubersiren aww how mean :)

augustlan's avatar

I love baklava! So yummy. :D

Tink's avatar

What is baklava?

DominicX's avatar

@Tink1113

It’s a Middle Eastern pastry treat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baklava

My dad worked with a Turkish investor who would bring it to us sometimes. It was awesome.

cookieman's avatar

@Tink1113: Sister, you have not lived until you’ve tried Baklava.

Sadly, I can no longer partake of the lava. Damn you diabetes. Have one for me little Tink.

Tink's avatar

So it has no meat right??
Then I’ll totally have some for you cprevite

irocktheworld's avatar

@Tink1113 You’ve gatta try it!!! It’s sooo good!!! mmm….:P
@ubersiren dont say that :P

gailcalled's avatar

And you are guaranteed to smear honey on everything you come near. Talk about sticky. (I hate the stuff.)

Tink's avatar

What does it have inside?

gailcalled's avatar

Honey and nuts and honey and more honey.

cookieman's avatar

…and twenty ounces of pure love.

Tink's avatar

Love…love….love…I love it!!

irocktheworld's avatar

The best part is that you want more and more after you just eat one :)

gailcalled's avatar

@irocktheworld: Or perhaps just a hot shower.

Hambayuti's avatar

@hungryhungryhortence ahhh…yes, the famous Baklava. Yummm! Of course! How could I forget to say that when I’m in the Middle East?! We have it all the time. (drat.)

I should also add olives, hummus, falafel and the combination of idli, sambar and chutney. (I’m feeling hungry right now..)

irocktheworld's avatar

Hummus is goooood :P
Baklava is amazing and I love it!!! <3
