How can I remove a pedal from my bike when the bolt is stripped?

Asked by erichw1504 (26453points) July 29th, 2009

I have a pedal whose bolt is stripped, but is screwed in all the way. Recently the plastic part of the pedal cracked and when trying to replaced it with a new one I was unable to unscrew it from the bike. Already broken one wrench, so I was wondering if there are any tricks or any technique to remove it?

Are you aware that the left pedal is threaded in the opposite direction, and loosens by turning clockwise?
