What is a great bridal shower gift?

Asked by mollykm (126points) August 6th, 2009

I would like to avoid the registry since they didn’t register for a lot and will be easily getting all of that stuff at their large wedding. Any creative ideas?

If you can afford it, a certificate for a dinner for two at a better-than-average restaurant. Or Olive Garden. Whichever you’d think they’d like! :D

I agree with romantic. You could put together a special basket of things they love including wine (or sparking beverage), food tidbits, etc.

My sister bought my cousin a subscription to Netflix, I thought that was a great idea. You could put it with some popcorn so they can have movie nights for their first year.

I like getting things that they will look at 20 years from now and think of me. One of my favorites is to go to an import store and get a unique ceramic fruit bowl. I still have one from my wedding 19 years ago. I am no longer in touch with the person ( an old boss) but I think of him and smile every time I see it.
