Help me find this food blog?

Asked by sophied (106points) September 5th, 2009

My mom is trying to find a blog she used to read. She says it’s written by a woman who normally tries out recipes for the New York Times. She can’t remember the woman’s name, but says it’s a very small kitchen. Anyone?

http://bitten.blogs.nytimes.com/?ref=dining is written by the very male Mark Bitten.

Check out Julie Powell of “Julia and Julie” fame.

@Gail

One small point. His name is

Mark Bittman

He is such a fabulous food writer. I have two of his books.

How to Cook Everything

And How to Cook Vegetarian

He also is in a PBS program touring Spain with Mario Battali

@Buttonstc: You’re right, of course. I see that the column is called “Bitten,” as an apparent pun. Bittman is also funny for a foodie.

(Milo just got mouse #28.)

@gailcalled, Milo is a cat after my own heart.

My congrats to Milo. Perhaps he would like to write a food blog. It would be a tad monotonous tho, what with the only ingredient being raw mouse and all.

You are right about Bittman. He is refreshingly non-snobby for a foodie.

Milo here; A bit below my normal standards but I did smile. And one of those 28 mice was only two feet and two tiny legs.

@Buttonstc: He includes a variety of grasses and greens from my field. Several of the mice almost looked gift-rapped, with that green string around their middles.

@Buttonstc. For an assortment of mice recipes, if times are hard, try these

Milo here; I am sending that little ditty to my friends, Max and Teddy. However, poor Teddy is morbidly obese and on a diet, so no mousies for him.
