My head hurts, why?

Asked by Mrgelastic (513points) September 15th, 2009

I know i’m going to end up at a doctor, but i’d like to know if anyone else has felt what i feel.

last friday i had a performance at school, and after i said my lines i squated back down with everyone in the group. when i popped back down my head started to hurt. the back of my neck was in pain, and my brain stated to hurt.

it went away after a day or so. and yesterday i performed again and it hurt twice as much. has anyone ever felt this?

You might be using muscles in your back and neck in a different way than before. It might also be a severe case of stage stress. I’m glad you are going to a doctor.

Ask your doctor what exercise/stretches you can do to alleviate the pain in the future.

Are you popping up and down quickly? It could be a ‘blood rushing to your head’ kind of thing if so.

There is a lot on meningitis going around right now. If you are in HS or college I would not delay going to the doctor. Until last month I never personally knew anyone who had meningitis and last month 2 people in my life who lived in different cities got it.

Do go to the doctor. If you are away at school, you have to be your own surrogate mom.

One weird thing about muscle pain is that it never “feels painful” in the place that is actually tight or cramped or injured or sore. The problem area is usually connected to that area, but not actually that area.

So, possibly, your head could hurt because your neck muscles are tense, or your shoulders, or your face.

how does one know if their brain hurts…. like i poked this guy in the ear with a blade of grass and he said his brain hurt after… how do you classify that?

Are you dehydrated? I think that has something to do with “brain pain” because it reduces the cushioning between your brain and skull. or am I thinking of something else?

Great, now I’m convinced that I have meningitis…

@Mrgelastic What is squated? Now my head hurts.

Seriously, though. It could be a gamut of things, and, because it is your head – do not take it lightly.

Like the joke about the guy without insurance that asks his friend to ask his doctor about chest pains for him, thinking the prescription will be right for him, too.

The guys goes to the doc, tells his friend it’s just heartburn.

Two weeks later, the guy that went to the doctor dies.

The “heartburn” friend is in hysterics” he calls everyone and his doctor to find out if he will die shortly as well.

Turns out his friend was just hit by a bus.

A very common cause is dehydration. Drink before you ever get thirsty.
