Can you provide feedback on my new iPhone app, PLEASE?

Asked by bostondave (11points) September 25th, 2009

I just launched a new iPhone app and I would really like some feedback. It is a 3D app that allows you to combine 3D Models with pictures taken on your iPhone. For example, test which couch looks best in your living room before you buy it.

It’s free and very easy to use? Try it and let me know…would you use this?

I haven’t toyed with the app, but with the video, I’d recommend focusing on “wow, that’s cool” applications that people would draw people into using the app. For example, decorating a room or landscaping a yard. Also, I’d wonder why I’d want/need to use it on a mobile platform as opposed to a desktop, so what’s a more on-the-fly type scenario where this would come in handy? With your couch example, am I able to model the couch I am looking at in the store or a 3d couch model from the image inventory that might be similar?

Maybe I’m not your target audience or whatever, but I’m struggling to understand why I would need this. Don’t get me wrong, though. I think what it can do is pretty cool.

@kevbo: Someone who does landscaping or interior decorating could show ideas to their prospective clients; or to use @bostondave‘s example, you could be at the furniture store looking at couches, and check to see which fits your space and decor better.

I will check it out at some point, but don’t have time at the moment. It sounds like a terrific idea, and one you might want to have a Free “Light” version of, and perhaps a more sophisticated “Pro” App for designers, as I mentioned above. Good luck with it!
