What percentage of college students are on some sort of financial aid?

What percentage of college students receive some sort of financial aid (e.g. from the govt, school/college, other need based scholarship programs, etc) annually? How much financial aid is given out in the U.S. across college students?

Those are 2006/2007 numbers.

65.5% of undergrads in ‘07—‘08 received some form of aid, according to the National Center for Education Statistics

Total financial aid for ‘07—‘08 was $162,501,000,000 according to The College Board

Rice University says 90% of their undergrads are, but then their tuition runs $45,000 per year.
