Can I download from Photobucket?

Asked by Supacase (14563points) November 11th, 2009

I have some videos on Photobucket that I uploaded from my old computer. They are not saved on the computer I have now, but I would like to put them there. Is there any way to download things from my PB album to my computer? I have looked all over the site without finding anything, so I am losing hope, but thought I might as well check here before giving up.

You can download them in flv format (flash video), you’ll need a mediaplayer that plays flv files (I like to think most mediaplayers support flv by now, but maybe that’s too hopeful, let me know if you need a player that supports flv). Here is a videotutorial someone made that explains it.

Go to the video. Say you have something like this.
http://s0006.photobucket.com/albums/0006/pbhomepage/?action=view&current=SquirrelsDance.flv

Remove the ?action=view&current= from the address bar so you get this.
http://s0006.photobucket.com/albums/0006/pbhomepage/SquirrelsDance.flv

Hit enter enter and your browser will ask you to save it. But it will be a flv file.

And if you are on a Mac you can use PunyVid to convert them to mp4.

I’m not sure what to use on Windows.
